Cleveland Cleveland Corporation has announced the successful completion of hydrogen injection tests at BF 7 at its Indiana steel plant.

The No. 7 blast furnace at the company's Indiana Steel plant is the largest in North America. This project is the second hydrogen blast furnace injection test conducted by Cleveland Cleveland, following the successful completion of hydrogen injection tests at the Middletown, Connecticut, blast furnace in 2023.
Indiana Plant No. 7 blast furnace is mainly responsible for the production of high-end steel grades. In order to coordinate with the blast furnace hydrogen injection test, Cleveland Cleveland Company completed the hydrogen pipeline around the Indiana steel plant ahead of schedule, and adjusted the hydrogen pipeline prior to the injection test to ensure that the test was conducted safely. The hydrogen for this injection test was supplied by the Linde Group. The successful completion of the blast furnace hydrogen injection test marks an important step in Cleveland Cleveland's drive to achieve carbon neutrality in its business operations.
